time flies

this past weekend marked our two year anniversary of living in our little home. man oh man does time fly by so fast. two years ago, drew had just finished law school, taken the bar, and we left a city that we loved dearly. we were excited about the next stage, which included a new town {for me}, a new job for drew, and a new home. looking back, it seems like we just moved here yesterday, but at the same time it feels like we have been here forever. funny how time works like that.
we loved that this home had great bones--hardwood floors, tall ceilings, crown molding, a massive front porch, big windows, and a back porch-- all the character of a home that's almost 100 years old. But it had room for improvement, and we wanted to be able to make it our own.
two years later, it is still a labor of love and a work in progress, but i thought i'd share the "before" pics in preparation of a "current" home tour in a few days.
the living room-- great floors, horrible wall color &  ugly fan w/ light kit.
the dining room {looks small here, but is fairly large} and the kitchen
glimpse into the master bedroom
guest room {not pictured is the office/3rd bedroom} and tiny bath {we wanted two baths, but you can't have everything, right?!}
don't be deceived, the yard looks ok & green here--it's a trick // the dirty deck
  this pic is after some tlc, but last spring, we put in a ton of man hours & sweat removing debris {read buried cinder blocks, bricks, and beer bottles}
after we cleaned up a lot, we had the yard completely cleared and leveled, and then wes {b's hubby} helped us with a workable plan including all new shrubs, trees, and sod.
here's an "in the process shot" from last summer when we laid the sod and planted all the new stuff. we did the work ourselves; it was serious bonding time for drewski and i. so thankful we make a good team, if i do say so myself.
i'll be back soon with the "now" pics{eeek...i'm nervous}! -j.
