o beautiful.

o beautiful for spacious skies,
for amber waves of grain,
for purple mountain majesties
above the fruited plain!
AMERICA! AMERICA!
god shed his grace on thee
and crown thy good with brotherhood
from sea to shining sea!

o beautiful for pilgrim feet
whose stern impassioned stress
a thoroughfare of freedom beat
across the wilderness!
AMERICA! AMERICA!
god mend thine every flaw,
confirm thy soul in self-control,
thy liberty in law!
isn't the last stanza of "america the beautiful," written above, so pretty. but for some reason we tend to only sing the first stanza. it really touched me recently when i heard it sung at drew's graduation ceremony. i say we start a new trend and bring back the true ending!
on to bigger things- i hope you feel as blessed to live in this country as we do!
happy 4th of july!
